Biography
Z. Roy Butler, 70, of El Dorado passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Courtyard Health & Rehab.
He was born October 10, 1939 in Union City, TN to Zellner Roy Butler and Anna May Upton Butler and then the family moved to Jackson, TN. Roy was a U.S. Navy Veteran, worked as a dispensing optician at Arkansas Eye Clinic, was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and an aunt, Wilma Nolan.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. Butler, of El Dorado; two sons, Randy Butler and wife Malinda of El Dorado, Brandon Butler of El Dorado, one sister, Carol Yancey of Gulf Breeze, FL; three grandchildren, Sarah Butler, Matthew Butler and Brittany Butler.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2010 at Young’s Funeral Directors.
The family will receive friends at 278 Dusty Rd.
